Sweeping a coin

Sweeping moves the full balance off a coin. You do this when you want to spend or move the value — for example, into an exchange or another wallet.

To sweep, you need the coin's private key. On most Cold Storage Coins it is hidden under a tamper-evident hologram. Once that hologram is peeled, the coin should be considered 'spent' — never accept a coin with a peeled hologram as payment.

How to sweep

• Peel the hologram to reveal the private key QR code.
• Open the Sweep tab and scan the private key QR.
• Enter the destination address where the funds should go.
• Review the amount and network fee, then confirm.
• The app signs the transaction on your device and broadcasts it.

Important

• Your private key is used only on your device to sign — it is never uploaded.
• Once swept, the physical coin no longer holds value.
• Never share a photo of an unpeeled private key QR code.
